CSCR This Week: Organic, Fair Trade Guatemala Chajul

Greetings POK Coffee Lovers,

In the category of fun facts, did you know that espresso means “pressed out” in Italian?  Because espresso forces boiling water through pressed coffee, espresso has more caffeine per volume than regular coffee.  However, it would take three shots to equal the amount in a cup of regular joe!

This week we’re featuring Guatemala FTO Chajulense, which is sourced from the Chajulense Association of 1,300 family-owned farms in the El Quiche region of Guatemala.  This group has over 30 years of experience cultivating organic coffee.  The region is known for its rugged terrain and the preservation of the indigenous population’s heritage, distinct clothing and dialects.  The Association supports indigenous communities recovering from the devastation of civil war.  The farms average one acre and still hand sort their coffee.

We hope you enjoy this week’s medium roast with notes of orange, milk chocolate, lemon and almond.

Here's to another cup together,

The NRR Team
