CSCR This Week: Las Damas de San Ignacio Peru

Greetings POK Coffee Lovers,

So, if you're wondering what Peru we gave you, it’s Las Damas de San Ignacio from the COOPAFSI (Cooperative Agraria “Frontera San Ignacio” Ltda) founded in 1969. The cooperative bought land and divided it among producers, with a goal of empowering and promoting “women grown” coffee. In 2016, a committee of women was created that distributes loans to producers for improvements to their land as well as their kitchens, crafts and livestock.  This fair trade, organic coffee has notes of milk chocolate, honey and caramel.

On the coffee news front, we thought you might find it interesting to hear that Brugh Coffee of Christiansburg, Virginia, became the first coffee provider to deliver a cup of joe via drone, all without spilling a drop!  The drone’s flight was managed by Wing, a drone delivery company conducting tests around the world.  Good news or bad news remains to be seen.

We hope that you continue to stay safe and healthy.

Here's to another cup – together soon,

The NRR Team
