CSCR This Week: Organic, Fair Trade Oaxaca

Greetings POK Coffee Lovers,

In honor of our sister city of Oaxaca, Mexico, this week we bring you our Mexican Flag Day blend, a mix of light and dark roasts of Oaxacan beans.  Flag Day in Mexico, known as Dia de la Bandera, has been celebrated annually on February 24th since 1937.  According to the Smithsonian, the holiday celebrates the elements of the Mexican flag itself – the green stripe representing the independence movement, the white the Catholic faith, and the red the Spaniards that joined in the quest for independence and the blood of national heroes.  The middle emblem symbolizes the country’s Aztec heritage.  The flag was created in 1821 at the victorious end of the independence movement.

Hope you enjoy this light and dark blend with notes of milk chocolate and brown sugar.

Here's to another cup together,

The NRR Team
