Greetings POK Coffee Lovers,
This week (and next) we’re offering a blend of Timor Hibrido and Ehiopian Sidamo, both Fair Trade and organic. The first comes from Cooperativa Cafe Timor (CCT), which was established in 1994 to work with small farms in East Timor. The Ethiopian Sidamo is from the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU), the largest Fair Trade coffee producer in Ethiopia. Oromia’s coffee is heirloom, forest-grown and bird-friendly. Look for notes of allspice, berries and dark chocolate.
In case you haven’t already heard, coffee filters are being turned into face masks for everyday use. What’s more, Melitta, the German company credited with inventing paper coffee filters, is now using material from its vacuum filter manufacturing business in their coffee filter manufacturing machines to make essentially medical-grade coffee filter-shaped face masks. The company has been producing millions of masks to help with the epidemic. Who would have guessed!
We hope that you continue to stay safe and healthy.
Here's to another cup – virtually together,
The NRR Team
