Distribution Week of October 3rd

Poughkeepsie Coffee Lovers,

Happy October!! We hope everyone enjoyed a nice early-fall weekend.

This Week’s Share
This week we are roasting a new batch of Colombian beans that arrived in Poughkeepsie last week! This certified Fair Trade Organic coffee comes from The ASOPCAFA foundation which was founded in 2013 and has 84 members. Their farm, in the village of Santa Rita in the Aipe district of the department of Huila, sits amongst bountiful streams descending from three snow capped volcanoes. This combination creates soil that is abundant with nutrients, allowing ASOPCAFA to practice sustainable organic farming methods. This coffee has notes of tangelo, caramel, and has a long finish.

Roasting Apprentice Turned Employee
Our roasting apprentice, Courtney Bertram, has officially become an employee in order to continue developing her roasting expertise and to support the growth of this business. Since we have increased our roasting capacity, we are now ready to grow our wholesale business!

If you have any connections in the food industry in the area, whether it be at local restaurants, schools, hospitals, cafes, or other venues that serve coffee and might be interested in sourcing locally, we would greatly appreciate any information you can share!! 🙂

Fall Distribution Locations
We have a few more options for distribution locations this fall (PFP people already know this!). If anyone would like to change their pick-up location please let us know by responding to this email by Friday October 7th. The options are:
  • The Boardman Road Library @ 141 Boardman Road
  • The Poughkeepsie Grind @ 117 Main Street
  • The Bridge Cafe @ The Vassar College Bridge Science Building
The other locations, including the Mid-Hudson Heritage Center and Poughkidsie, also remain available.

Thank you for your support and as always, Happy Brewing!
